•  To educate people, create awareness and inform them of current beliefs in the field of high altitude     medicine.
•  To prevent and treat altitude sickness and altitude related problems.
•  To popularize mountain medicine among Nepali health professionals.
•  To be a forum for mountain medicine health experts incorporating physicians and medical students     interested in the field to function as expert health manpower for the society.
•  To encourage the sharing of papers, articles and research at discussion forums of mountain     medicine and function as a scientific academy.
