Insect Bites
How to avoid insect bites
- Pay special attention to avoid mosquito bite between dawn and dusk.
- Wear long sleeve shirts and pants.
- Use insect repellent containing DEET( diethymethyltoluamide)
- Use mosquito nets preferably impregnated with insecticide (permanthrin or deltamethrin) unless you are in a well-screened house.
Other diseases
- Intestinal worm infestation can cause abdominal discomfort, and pain.
- Fungal infections of the skin are common but usually respond to treatment.
- Lice, tick bed bugs, flea can be troublesome and rob your desperately needed sleep after a hard day of trekking.
- HIV/AIDS has been a growing threat in Southeast Asia and the Indian subcontinent that includes Nepal , and we cannot overemphasize the practice of safe sex.
- Carry a good pair of sun glasses and sunscreen lotion. Getting tanned is nice but getting burnt isn't.
